Our story

Where dots connected

JoinRun wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom. It was born on the start line in Chandigarh, inside one of India's fastest-growing run clubs.

The coach who carried a club

If you run in Chandigarh, you know Amarjit Singh — better known as Technical Runner. Running, marathon and HYROX coach, obsessed with science-based training, and the pivot leading ASICS Running Club (ARC) Chandigarh through 2026. His mantra: no more guesswork running — and 11.9K people follow along on Instagram for exactly that.

A very good problem

ARC Chandigarh grew the way every club dreams of growing — until 200 to 250 runners were turning up to a single session. And with that came the question that kept Amarjit up at night: who is actually coming? Who showed up last week but not this week? Who’s new, who’s a regular, who quietly dropped off?

At that scale, WhatsApp lists and memory stop working. Every session, the energy on the turf was incredible — and the attendance sheet was chaos. Keeping track of each participant had become genuinely impossible.

Enter the pilot

That’s where Prakhar Soni came in — Senior Marketing Head at ASICS. He’d seen it from the brand’s side too: the problem was real, and the motto behind the ASICS Running Club — truly knowing and serving its runners — was still left unsolved. He didn’t just bring a tool — he brought the conviction and the use cases, and ran the pilot on the ground with ARC. His argument was simple: once we have correct, accurate data, we can serve people better. Not vibes, not headcounts shouted across a field — real numbers about real runners.

What the data changed

Within one month of release, the club had 1,500+ sign-ups on JoinRun — and for the first time, an honest picture of itself. Exactly how many runners are active. Who the true regulars are. Which sessions pull people in and which quietly lose them. Insights that used to be impossible were suddenly one dashboard away.

The leaders finally spent event mornings coaching and welcoming people — not chasing names on a list.

The people who made it real

A platform doesn’t grow a club — people do. Leaders like Simran stepped up alongside Amarjit, brought structure to the chaos, and helped the club grow week after week. And the runners themselves turned a tool into a habit — showing up, checking in, and becoming regulars on the platform, session after session.

And none of it happens without the wider family: Runners of Chandigarh — the big community whose energy carries every start line in the city. Thank you.

That’s the story. A coach with an impossible attendance sheet, a pilot that proved data serves people — and a club that ran with it.

JoinRun is us paying that forward to every run club that’s growing faster than its spreadsheet.
